Jacqui's Bucket Farm

Planting Day - April 25

One of My "Buckets"

I have it sitting on a board I put on top of an old planter box - full of dirt, freshly watered and ready to go!  The plants are watered through the hole where the "green thingy" is.

One of My Buckets

The "green thingy" is just a plastic pot scrubber I stuck in the hole to keep mosquitos from breeding in the water reservoir. All I have to do is stick a hose in there and fill the reservoir.

My First Three "Buckets" - Planted!

Not much to look at right now.  I planted Swiss chard in the container on the left - the one on top of the old planter box.  And the container on the right is planted with pole beans

Just Planted

You can see the tomato plants in the middle container.  The plant on the left in front is a Momotaro - a Japanese variety that produces 6-7 oz fruit.  The taller plant on the right in back is a Sungold - a cherry tomatoe that produces very sweet orange fruit.

If you look close you can see that I've placed a board under each planter.  For the two containers on the deck, I've strapped two 10" square plant dollies to the underside of each board - just in case I want to move them around.
