Just Five Weeks After
Planting...
Most of the chard is
doing well. The tiny plant on the left front is the
replacement for a plant that never came up. And the empty
spot in front has just been reseeded to replace a plant
that suffered an untimely death - for no discernable cause
- just keeled over and died.

And notice that the
chard is no longer on top of the old
planter!
I had some work done on
the side of the house this week. That meant I had to
move all the containers away from the house. The other
three were easy. They were already on
wheels.
The chard was not
easy. I had to drain the water reservoir first to make it
lighter. And then I had to come up with some more
wheels for its platform. Luckily I noticed these old
dollies under some plants that didn't realy need
them.
But even with all the
water drained out, these pots are very heavy. I made sure
I moved it the day before my chiropractic
appointment!
Caged?
I put a cage around the
squash in hopes of keeping it from running all over the deck.
But I'm not sure how I am going to make it stay in the cage.
Maybe I can tie it to the posts?

Lots of
Flowers
But I don't see any fruit developing yet. Oh well,
it's only been five weeks after all. (sigh)

Catching Up
Some of the beans I cut back last week are starting to catch
up to the two plants I didn't prune - on the right
side.
