Swiss Chard

Coming along nicely...  One opening didn't grow.  I reseeded that one a few days ago.

Zucchini

The three transplants in the back are getting bigger. And the three newly planted seeds are coming up in the front.  (Look close - they really are there.)

Tomatoes

The support cages arrived this week - just in the nick of time! The Momotaro tomato (left front) was still standing on its own. But the Sungold (right rear) had gotton so tall some of the stems flopped over behind the Momotaro and they are now growing back up again.

Beans

The beans are having some problems.  First it was insect problems.  Then the stalks grew taller than the temporary stakes I stuck in the pots.  When they got too tall they fell over.  And wherever the stems bent down the plant started to shrivel and die above that point.

I decided to prune them back.  I now have shorter plants with twice as many stems as before.  And I have the support cages so they'll be able to grow up without falling over

The support section in this picture is only two feet tall.  I'll have to add more sections soon.
