Ready to
Eat!
Right after taking this picture, I started
harvesting chard. My first cutting gave me enough for two
generous servings of leaves and two more servings of steamed
stems. Yum!

Breaking
Out
I don't seem to be doing a good job of keeping the squash
contained. I have it pushed into a corner so it has walls on
two sides. But it's starting to sprawl to the side. Oh well.
Guess sprawling all over is just one of things zucchini does -
very, very well.

Four Foot High and
Risin'...
The tomatoes are over the top of their cage. I started with
two 2' sections so they are officially more than four feet
above the top of the container. At the rate they're growing, I
think I'd better put up one more section of cage - soon!

The two plants have intermingled so much I can't tell which
plant is which anymore. I'll have to wait and see as the
fruit develops. You can see some of the flowers near the
top. And down on the left you can just make out one
tomato. That one is a Momotaro.
Over
the Top...
I have three 2' sections
of cage installed for the beans. And I augmented that with
garden twine to give them more vertical growth paths. They're
over the top of their six foot cage and looking for somewhere
to go. One venturesome vine snuck in the door and got chopped
off by the screen door closing on it. (Take that, you
sneak!)

I refuse to put up more sections of cage. I'm already going
to have to run up a step-stool to pick my beans.
I Did Not Plant This Corn...
Squirrel did
it! This is behind my house - my back yard.
I'm not surprise squirrel planted the corn. But I'm
very surprised it's actually growing! I haven't
watered this or helped in any way. All I've done is
watch in amazement.
